Content Writer


At Millrace, we help organisations build relationships by developing creative marketing content audiences really care about. Our days are filled with planning campaigns, creating video motion pieces, writing blog posts, crafting sector specific case-studies, designing mailshots for the masses, and adding value to social media projects.

Our clients vary between the charity, medical, housing, travel, waste, and public sectors. As we grow within our core sectors, and strive to communicate messages that really matter, we are looking for a Content Writer to join the Mill and support on existing client campaigns.

The role:

  • Research topics to produce high-quality content pieces
  • Write engaging and informative content in the form of regular blogs for our clients (SEO experience highly desirable but training will be provided)
  • Produce case studies and website updates as part of larger briefs
  • Balance working alongside a team delivering on wider projects with working alone on solo client requirements
  • Research and produce content needed for client websites
  • Proof content
  • Support our Content Writer & Analyst with research reports
  • Write electronic mailshots as part of client campaigns
  • Liaise with clients for sign off
  • Take lead on smaller projects and adhere to deadlines
  • Support Our Content Strategist in planning and writing social media campaigns

About You:

You’re either a graduate in Journalism or English looking to take your first step into an agency, or you’ll have experience working within a role where writing is your day job (such as a PR or media setting).

Either way, you’ll be a natural at turning a variety of subjects into interesting and engaging written content.

Due to the nature of the work, you’ll have excellent attention to detail that you can continuously maintain, alongside exceptional grammar. There is a need for SEO content production across blog pieces and website pages, so experience in this area is desirable, but not essential.

You’ll have evidence of:

  • Managing multiple activities
  • Writing to a very high standard
  • Educated to a degree level (English or Journalism focussed qualification)

Generally, we work 9-5 with three days based in our office location in Llanishen, Cardiff.

Salary: minimum of £19,500 – £22,000 (depending on experience)
